My research focuses on the change of dynamics (sediment transport, deposition and erosion, morphology) of the upper Eger catchment over the last 600 years. The human use (mills, mining) of the region plays a major role, on the one hand through direct interventions in the river systems, but also through the legacies, which I use as tracers. I use a mixture of sediment and chemical analyses as well as geophysical measurements to reveal the changes in the floodplains.

Topic of the PhD thesis:

Changing river dynamics in the Eger/Röslau catchment since the late Middle Ages - investigations using three human induced metals as tracers (Hg, Fe, Sn).
